SHANK SHIELD is an oil-based lubricant created specifically for the pivot of a folding knife. It’s shear-thinning formula is applied as a liquid and penetrates the joint of the knife. But, SHANK SHIELD stays in place where it’s applied and doesn’t run out. One or two small drops is all it takes to lubricate and protect a clean knife pivot for months. To clean a dirty pivot, simply add a few extra drops and work the pivot open and shut until the dirt is dissolved and lifted from the joint so that it can be removed with a cotton swab. SHANK SHIELD contains the same microscopic ball bearing technology as ALPHA SAUCE, and is suitable for tight, precise pivots and locking mechanisms.
